O guitarrista do Rage Against The Machine, Tom Morello, afirmou que comprar o single de “Killing In The Name” é uma forma dos fãs votarem contra o programa de calouros “The X Factor”.
Morello disse em entrevista a “BBC 6Music” que até hoje os fãs deste tipo de programa só tinham força de decisão votando a favor ou contra um candidato e que somente agora vão “realmente poder votar contra o programa propriamente dito”.
O guitarrista do RATM falou ainda que a campanha feita pelos usuários do Facebook contra o “The X Factor”, que já conta com mais de 800 mil adeptos, é uma “maravilhosa dose de anarquia”. “O hino rebelde da música vai transcender os feriados de Natal”, afirmou.
A campanha contra o “The X Factor” não agradou o produtor e jurado do programa, Simon Cowell, que considerou a atitude como “burra” e cínica”.
