Pela primeira vez, o Brasil vai sediar o festival Woodstock. Ainda há poucas informações oficiais sobre o evento, mas está confirmado que ele vai acontecer no interior de São Paulo, e na primeira quinzena de outubro. A organização está visitando diversos locais na região de Itu, que fica há 100km de São Paulo.
Segundo o site da agência “All Access Media”, há muitas bandas cogitadas para tocar no festival, mas duas já estão praticamente certas: Linkin’ Park e Green Day. A organização do evento não confirma a informação.
O Woodstock Brasil será feito pelo mesmo pessoal que organizou o Maquinaria Festival, que em 2009 trouxe Janes’ Addiction e Faith No More. O festival deve ter duração de três dias.
O primeiro festival de Woodstock aconteceu em 1969 e entrou para a história. Em 1994 e 1999 ele foi reeditado, sempre nos Estados Unidos.
