O vocalista de heavy metal Ronnie James Dio, famoso por cantar em bandas como Rainbow, Black Sabbath e Heaven and Hell, morreu na manhã deste domingo (16), aos 67 anos, após perder a luta contra um câncer estomacal.
A morte de Dio foi confirmada por sua esposa, Wendy Dio, que publicou um comunicado na página oficial do músico. “Hoje meu coração está partido, Ronnie morreu às 7h45 . Muitos amigos e familiares puderam dizer adeus antes dele morrer pacificamente”, escreveu Wendy.
No mesmo comunicado, a esposa de Dio diz que ele sabia o tanto que todos o amavam e agradece o apoio desde que o vocalista soube da doença, em novembro de 2009. “Por favor nos deem alguns dias de privacidade para lidarmos com essa terrível perda. Por favor saibam que ele os amava e sua música vai viver para sempre”, finalizou Wendy Dio.
Na página oficial do Facebook de Ronnie James Dio foi aberto um espaço para os fãs mandarem mensagens em homenagem ao vocalista do Heaven and Hell.
